I'm actually really really tired, I just want to sleep, but if I don't make a habit out of writing this thing, you can bet that it would be completely forgotten like the old blogs I had.
Week 2 is pretty rough on the client side, there were quite a lot of back and fro from our client about the character design 'liberties' that we were taking. I'm going to be completely honest about this one, and it's going to sound terrible from here onwards:
We hated the design. WE HATE IT. The design is something none of us would have come up with, and maybe that's a good thing, it's unique! However, the reason we would not have came up with that design is because to us, it is not aesthetically pleasing to our eyes (and I stress the words, our eyes) Clearly, our client loves it!
Now, this is basically a perfect client and artist relationship. The client wants to have it his way, and the artist wants to have it his way too. So what basically happens in the perfect client-artist relationship is you compromise. Our client said that "You can change the design if you want". He might as well have been saying "You want to change the fabulous design I drew already? Better not, let's reject every other idea you have"
The rest of the team clearly have ideas on their own, resulting in a torrent of emails that probably irritated him as much as his irritated the team's. Personally, I think we should just keep to his design if he likes it so, and he's the client.
The process didn't affect me much since I was on the story side of things. That is until, he rejected his own script which we have completely drafted a story board and added in some pretty rocking stuff. The reason for that, it might be controversial of them to include the main character's killing scene (of the snail).
I only have three very appropriate words for that response. What the heck?
Why do you put in a story that you personally don't believe in, as one of the 'scripts' if you don't really want us to do it? I totally get what he means about the controversy part.
(Though I do think that TV shows are getting real soft, in the past I watch a mouse putting explosives in a cat's brain and subsequently exploded, now that's entertainment. Now I watch my brother watch the mickey mouse clubhouse, it was terrible)
But it would have been nice, if he could say, "oh by the way guys, don't do the one promising script I gave you".
End rant. I'm sorry about the above, but it has to be said.

I spent around 3 hours of the day making the Gantt chart, it was pretty annoying at first since our team leader is very organized (it is a good thing, actually) so everything had to be subdivided into hours and days when I would have done it in weeks. But hey, it looks good and I think this would help us in being organized.
Let's hope that wed would be better.
I want to sleep.
I need sleep.
Oh
and my ipod broke.
it's so sad.
haha
life
is sad
