I'm gonna be going through all the shots I've done for now and the problems I've faced so far for each shot. Basically, I thought that it would be better if I do it now, rather than rack my brains about it when it comes to writing the report.
Scene 2 shot 3 : Auton looks shocked as he sees the horse for the first time. The comments/issues I kept getting is that he doesn't look shocked/scared, and I had to change the hands many times as well as the timing. There were also some debates over the 180 degree line and it is concluded that we have to flip this image when editing. Completed shot.
Scene 2 shot 5 : Auton looks scared, close up. This was tricky because I only have the eyes to express fear, and to do so I took Gekkie's suggestion to make the pupils look smaller. The eye brows were also hard to show expressions as it is so darn short. After putting in this shot into the animatic, it was determined that the initial number of frames dedicated to it is too little, so I had to extend it. completed.
Scene 2 shot 8: the most problematic shot of all. By the way we figured out that in scene 2 shot 7, Derrie was already behind Auton so there is no point for him to 'fly' in, phew. I am still not done with this....even though I have the most different versions for this.
scene 2 shot 9: Derrie's reaction to being slapped away. I started with a line drawing but replaced with a rig when there was a 'song and dance' about how it doesn't look like Derrie....There were some timing issues but this was fixed rather quickly. As well as the issue of short limbs. Completed.
Scene 2 shot 13: Derrie rushes over to unplug. This shot was slightly problematic as it went through different timings for different versions. The first ver. was said to make Derrie look like he fell down, so I adjusted it to just move Derrie straight down instead of bending him. Then, it was suggested by Ian, the client, that he should move fast, so that it would look more funny. Therefore, the timing is adjusted as well. Though right now, the comment is that the timing for the bending seems weird... sorta completed.
Scene 4 shot 12: Shot of monster laughing. I have no idea why this is so troubling to me...It shouldn't be that hard....I observed many gif. files of pokemons laughing, and noticed that they mainly just moved their shoulders and somehow it will look like its moving. So I drew on shoulders to the rig....it may look weird....it probably is. The paws are also weird because it doesn't seem like it's stuck to its body? Somewhat completed... |
Scene 4 shot 21: Shot of monster thumbs up. Initially, it was supposed to be just the dust monster holding his chest while laughing. However, I misinterpreted it and drew it as a thumbs up, but somehow Phil thought it looks good so the group who at first wanted it gone, decided to let it be. Completed shot. |
There are still around 3 shots (not including those somewhat completed shots) that needed to be completely worked on. Everything seems to be on schedule.
